By a 508-to-12 vote in the Chamber of Deputies and 288-to-1 vote in the Senate Premier Edouard Daladier has been granted power to govern France by decree for the next three months. This is the nearest approach to unanimous parliamentary support that has been given to any French Government in recent years.

Additional paring of RKO's contract list took place today when the studio settled its agreements with Herbert Marshall and Miriam Hopkins. The time element was a factor in each contract and with no stories ready for either star, cancellations were negotiated to allow them to take other assignments, thus freeing the studio from salary commitments.
