A three-run attack in the first inning at the expense of Dizzy Dean enabled the Detroit Tigers to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals, 3 to 2, in an exhibition baseball game today. Vernon Kennedy, pitcher, who was acquired from the Chicago White Sox, hurled the opening innings for Detroit and held the Cardinals scoreless.
